    Current Status of Organophosphorus Pesticide Residues in Vegetables Grown in Greenhouse in Yinchuan Suburb

    • Objectives To investigate the content of organphosphorus pesticide residues in vegetables grown in greenhouse in Yinchuan suburb.
      Methods Vegetable samples were randomly selected from 35 greenhouses in a certain town in Yinchuan suburb and 20 kinds of organophosphorus pesticide residues in vegetables were determined.
      Results Ten kinds of organophosphorus pesticides were detected from samples, and the overall detection rate was 40%, with a pass rate of 85.71%. The detection rate for celery was 50%, which was higher than that in tomatoes and cucumbers. The detection rate for organophosphorus pesticides recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture was 34.3%, which was higher than 8.6% for banned organophosphorus pesticides (P < 0.05). The content of triazophos residues in vegetable samples exceeded the maximum limits for 41.86 times.
      Conclusions There were certain amounts of organophosphorus pesticide residues in vegetables grown in greenhouses in Yinchuan suburb. The situation of residues was different in the type of greenhouses and organophosphorus pesticides. Several samples was detected with a variety of organphosphorus pesticide residues. Therefore, strengthening the publicity of pesticide-related knowledge, giving reasonable guidance to growers on pesticide-spraying and trying our best to minimize the hazards on food and environment caused by pesticides.
