Survey on Heavy Metal Detection of Human Biomaterials in Laboratories in Chinese CDC

    • Objectives To comprehensively understand the heavy metal detection of human biomaterial in laboratories in Chinese CDCs, to provide evidences for related government to put more attention on the abilities of examination in Chinese CDCs.
Methods 37 CDCs were surveyed by questionnaires on the heavy metal detection of human biomaterials in their laboratories.
Results 28 of the CDCs have the ability to detect heavy metals like lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and chromium. But the abilities of examination are unbalanced.
Conclusions Nowadays, the detection and supervisions on heavy metal in human biomaterials are mostly achievable, but further research to set up a set of standard consolidated heavy metal detection method is necessary.
