Analysis on the Monitoring of Air Quality of 20 Star Hotel Restaurants in Kunshan

    • Objective To explore the sanitary quality of indoor air in star hotel restaurants in Kunshan city.
Methods According to the rule of health monitoring for public places, continuously monitoring the temperature, relative humidity, PM2.5 and other indicators were conducted in 127 stations of 20 three to five star hotel restaurants which use central air conditioning as ventilation system in Kunshan city from Apr. 2010 to Mar. 2011.
Results There were 1472 environmental surveillance data, the passing rates of wind velocity, luminance, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and aerobic bacterial count were 97.5%, 95.1%, 100.0%, 97.9%, 97.6% respectively, and which was relatively high. The passing rates of temperature, relative humidity and fresh air volume were 69.3%, 61.4% and 16.0% respectively, which were relatively low.
Conclusions The air quality in star hotel restaurants was good in general in Kunshan city, however the passing rates of temperature, relative humidity and fresh air volume were low; the role of regulating the microclimate conducted by central air conditioning should be strengthened.
