The Application of Gaussian Plume Air Dispersion Model in the Environmental Risk Assessment for Accidental Leakage of Coal Gas at One Chemical Apparatus

    • Objectives To explore the technique of environmental health risk assessment applied to accidental leakage of toxic gas.
Methods Based on the characteristics of leakage and dispersion from toxic gases, the mathematical model is adopted to pre-assess the risk of environmental accidents, which is called Gaussian Plume Air Dispersion Model.
Results The degree of damage in the environmental pollution accidents can be pre-analyzed using this method, which could prevent passive treatment in face of emergency pollution accidents.
Conclusions Gaussian Plume Air Dispersion Model can be applied to pre-analyze the environmental accidents by toxic gases, and it also can simulate and replicate the degree of damage after the accident, which is important in promoting the emergency management in environmental accidents.
