Monitoring Results of Secondary Water Supply in Xiamen City in 2010-2012

Objectives To understand the quality of water from secondary water supply in Xiamen city and to provide scientific basis for supervision and management.

Methods The data on the quality of water from secondary water supply in Xiamen detected in 2010-2012 were collected, analyzed and evaluated.

Results Of the 1141 water samples tested in 2010-2012, 821 of them were qualified, accounting for 72.0%. The qualified rate was 68.3% in 2010, 69.8% in 2011 and 80.6% in 2012.

Conclusions The quality of water from secondary water supply in Xiamen was upswing year by year.Health supervision should be strengthened in order to improve the quality of water from secondary water supply and guarantee the safety of drinking water.
