    Analysis on Quality of Central Air Conditioning System at Public Places in Mianyang in 2010

    • Objectives To understand the hygienic status of central air conditioning system at public places in Mianyang, and to provide scientific basis for improving indoor air quality at public places.
      Methods Samples were collected and tested according to the Health Standard for Central Air Conditioning System at Public Places.
      Results Among the 66 central air conditioning systems at public places monitored in 2010, only 13 of them were qualified, the qualified rate was 19.7%. The unqualified rate for dust weight, total bacteria count and total fungi count on the inside surface of air duct was 77.3%, 65.2% and 53% respectively.
      Conclusions Contamination in central air conditioning system at public places was relatively serious in Mianyang city, sanitary status is not optimistic. It is necessary to strengthen sanitary supervision and surveillance and clean the central air conditioning system at public places.
