    Analyses on Heavy Metal Pollution of Drinking Water from Purifying Agents in Henan Province in 2008—2012

    • Objectives Get to know the heavy metal pollution of drinking water from purifying agents in Henan province.
      Methods Detecting the content of As, Pb, Hg, Cd, Cr, Ag and Se in purifying agent samples and analyzing the detected results with SPSS 13.0 software.
      Results The pass rate was 51.64% for all 275 samples. The pass rate was 44.81% for the samples brought by the manufacturer of purifying agents, which was much lower than 60.33% for the samples brought by supervising departments. The pass rates were 47.90%, 58.33%, 64.29% and 50.00% for polyaluminium chloride, poly-aluminum-ferric chloride, poly-silicic-aluminum sulfate and others, respectively. The pass rates were 66.18%, 98.18%, 98.55%, 68.73%, 98.91%, 98.55% and 83.64% for As, Cr, Pb, Ag, Se and Hg, respectively.
      Conclusions Heavy metal pollution of drinking water from purifying agents in Henan province was serious and the pollution was mainly from the raw materials and the process of production.
