    Analysis on Disinfection Quality in Medical Institutions and Countermeasures in Changzhou City

    • Objectives To evaluate the quality of disinfection in hospitals in Changzhou city to explore the problems in the administration of hospitals, in order to improve the quality of disinfection and to provide scientific basis for effective prevention and control of nosocomial infection in hospitals.
      Methods Samples were collected and tested in order to investigate the quality of disinfection in hospitals.
      Results A total of 4343 samples were collected from hospitals for surveillance; the total qualified rate was 91.27%, and the qualified rates in 2011, 2012 and 2013 were 90.49%. 92.19% and 91.15%, respectively. The qualified rates of hospitals in municipal, county, town and village level in these 3 years were 93.77%, 91.16%and 89.11%, respectively. Among all surveillance items, the qualified rate of environmental surfaces was the highest (93.38%), and the qualified rate of water within the waterline of dental units was the lowest (75.84%).
      Conclusions There were still vulnerable spots on the quality of disinfection in hospitals, surveillance and technical guidance on disinfection should be carried out in a deep-going way in hospitals at different levels in Changzhou.
