Analysis of Factors Affecting Pulmonary Function of Foundry Workers by Logistic Regression

    • Objectives To explore factors affecting pulmonary function of foundry workers.
Methods Pulmonary functions were tested for workers who had experiences of exposure to foundry dusts for more than 3 years. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore factors affecting pulmonary function of these workers.
Results Age and smoking were risk factors for the abnormal pulmonary function in foundry workers (OR=1.417, OR=1.460, P < 0.01).
Conclusions The abnormality of pulmonary function in foundry workers is caused by combined action of multiple factors.Comprehensive measures should be taken to reduce the incidence of abnormal pulmonary function in foundry workers.
