    Evaluation on Hygienic Status in Public Places of Subway Stations in Zhengzhou

    • Objectives To evaluate the hygienic status of Zhengzhou subway stations before operation to provide scientific basis for hygienic administration and approval, and to provide scientific data for planning construction and designing facilities of rail transit projects in the future.
      Methods The hygienic status in the public place of 5 subway stations was evaluated according to relevant state laws, regulations, and health standards by certificated instruments. Detection indexes were small climate, air pollutants, the sanitation of central air conditioning system and drinking water, etc.
      Results The temperature was unqualified in parts of monitoring points in the hall, platform and carriage of Zhengzhou subway stations; the pollution of PM10 exceeded the standard limits was serious with a pass rate of only 6.67%; the pass rate of total bacteria counts in dusts was 90%; the pass rate of total fungal counts in blasting air was 80%; and other indicators were qualified.
      Conclusions The hygienic status of Zhengzhou subway stations has met the requirement of operation except PM10; a systemic cleaning and disinfecting the environment in public places before operation was suggested.
