Evaluation on the Narcotic Effect of Drug Taking Grass

    • Objectives To evaluate the narcotic effect of drug taking grass, research of purifing degree on indoor pollution gas by green plants during and after the renovations, provide the evidence for scientific guidance on removing decoration pollutants.
Methods Respectively in two sealed test tank (lab and contrast tank)different types and concentrations of gas pollutants were generated. The concentrations in different time were changed, purification efficiencies were calculated.
Results The clearance rate of formaldehyde after 3 h by drug taking grass was 92.4%, the total volatile organic compound removal rate is 13.6%, the carbon monoxide removal rate was 20.1%; the clearance rate of formaldehyde after 24 h by drug taking grass was 96.5%, the total volatile organic compound removal rate is 74.5%, the carbon monoxide removal rate was 66.1%; the clearance rate of formaldehyde after 48 h by drug taking grass was 97.2%, the total volatile organic compound removal rate is 87.4%, the carbon monoxide removal rate was 67.4%; the clearance rate of formaldehyde after 72 h by drug taking grass was 98.5%, the total volatile organic compound removal rate is 84.8%, the removal rate of 71.3% was for carbon monoxide.
Conclusions The drug taking grass on formaldehyde has strong absorption function; the absorption is obvious for the total volatile organic compounds; there is certain absorption effect for carbon monoxide; drug taking grass is growing up better within polluted air.
