Objectives To establish determination methods for epichlorohydrin in drinking water to meet the demands in "Health Standards for Drinking Water"(GB 5749-2006) and in testing the quality of actual water samples.
Methods Epichlorohydrin in drinking water samples was determined by GC-MS after concentrated by solid-phase extraction and separated by high elastic quartz capillary column.
Results The results of epichlorohydrin tested by this method were good, the RSD was < 10%, the recovery rate was 91% ~ 104%, and the minimum detectable limit was 0.02 μg/L.
Conclusions The solid-phase extraction and GC-MS detection method was in higher sensitivity and good specificity, which was better than the standard column separation and FID detection method. The GC-MS method can satisfy the demands of the"Health Standards for Drinking Water"(GB 5749-2006) and for testing the quality of actual water samples.
