Application of spatial information technology in research on heavy metal pollution in soil

    • Spatial information technology is developing rapidly and has broad prospects for application in environmental protection and pollution prevention and control. Heavy metal pollution in soil has a serious impact on human health and ecological balance, making it an environmental issue that receives considerable attention in China. By utilizing spatial information technology, it is possible to obtain information on the content, spatial distribution, and source of heavy metals in soil, which is of great significance for risk assessment, pollution control, and long-term monitoring of soil environment. This article summarizes the application of spatial information technology in the research on heavy metal pollution in soil.
