Objective To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the articles published in the Journal of Environmental Hygiene, and to investigate the current status and development trends in the field of environmental health.
Methods The articles, published in Journal of Environmental Hygiene, were searched on CNKI from 2011 to 2021. The annual publication of articles and the distribution characteristics of authors and institutions were analyzed through Microsoft Excel after removing non-academic articles by EndNote software, and VOSviewer was used to present co-occurrence networks.
Results A total of 1 226 articles were included. The number of articles published in 2021 was increased by 47.14% compared with that in 2011, and highly productive authors and institutions were mainly from the economically developed regions. Current research mainly focused on the 10 directions such as "drinking water""rural areas""public places""water quality""sanitation", and "PM2.5". "Coronavirus disease 2019", "fine particulate matter", and "mortality" were newly emerged research hotpots in recent years.
Conclusion The research content of this journal is relatively fixed, and it is recommended to strengthen interdisciplinary crossover and integration in the future to build a world-class journal to better promote the development of environmental health.
