    Discussion of problems caused by waste medical masks

    • The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has dramatically increased the use of medical masks. Disposal of waste medical masks puts huge pressure on the environment and sanitation, including the harm to ecological environment caused by plastic materials and the risk of epidemic spread caused by pathogenic microorganisms carried. This article discusses the environmental and sanitation problems caused by waste medical masks, the origin of these problems and their possible solutions, hoping to provide reference for resolving the problems associated with waste medical masks.
