Hygienic Status of Public Places in Longgang District of Shenzhen, China, 2015—2019

Objective To investigate the hygienic status of public places in Longgang district of Shenzhen, China, from 2015 to 2019.

Methods On-site sampling and testing were conducted according to the Examination methods for public places (GB/T 18204-2013), and a statistical analysis was performed for the testing data.

Results A total of 102 924 samples were collected in 2015—2019, among which 99 856 samples were qualified, with an overall qualification rate of 97.02%. There were significant differences in the qualification rates of samples among different years (χ² = 917.01, P < 0.05), and the qualification rates of air, public utensils, and tea sets in public places were 98.00%, 97.45%, and 97.94%, respectively. The qualification rates of testing results had significant differences (χ² = 856.37, P < 0.05) among different types of places. There were significant differences among different types of places in the qualification rates of total bacterial count (χ² = 525.31, P < 0.05), coliform (χ² = 421.99, P < 0.05), Staphylococcus aureus (χ² = 500.90, P < 0.05), and total number of fungi (χ² = 140.43, P < 0.05).

Conclusion The overall hygienic status of public places in Longgang District of Shenzhen is good, but could still improve in the futrue.
