Objective To introduce the quality control of the proficiency testing for iron determination in drinking water.
Methods Flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry was used to determine iron in drinking water samples for proficiency testing, and quality control was conducted for this experiment from the aspects of equipment, laboratory personnel, sample storage and use, optimization of instrument parameters, verification of standard solution, preliminary experiment, sample analysis, and data processing.
Results The proficiency testing for iron determination in drinking water achieved satisfactory result.
Conclusion The quality control measures adopted in the proficiency testing for iron determination in drinking water can effectively ensure the accuracy of determination result.
