Interpretation of Specification of Hand Hygiene for Congregate Settings(WS/T 699-2020)

Hand hygiene, including hand washing and hand antisepsis, is the basis of personal hygiene and public health. It is also used as an important measure to control the spread of COVID-19 in China and globally. Congregate settings are densely populated places, and hand hygiene of individuals in such places is of great importance for epidemic prevention and control. The article interprets the background, relevant situation in China and globally, main contents and basis of the standard of Specification of Hand Hygiene for Congregate Settings(WS/T 699-2020), in order to help the public, managers and practitioners of related places better understand the main contents of the specification and promote its implementation.
