    Hygienic Status Analysis of Hotel in Guangzhou in 2018

    • Objectives  To understand the air quality of rooms in hotel in Guangzhou and the sanitary status of public articles and appliances, so as to provide scientific basis for the health supervision and management of the hotel and the prevention and control of diseases transmitted in related public places.
      Methods  Samples of air quality and public articles and appliances in the rooms of 200 hotels, guesthouses, inns, and hostels were tested according to GB/T 18204 Standard Examination Methods for Public Places. The test results were evaluated according to the requirements of GB 9663-1996 Hygienic Standard for Hotel.
      Results  The qualified rate for 200 different levels of dewelling places was 86.50 % (173/200). The qualified rates of high, medium and low level hotels were 94.12% (16/17), 88.32% (121/137) and 78.26% (36/46), respectively. The total of 607 guest rooms were tested with a qualified rate of 87.15% (529/607). And the qualified rates of high, medium, and low level hotels were 94.52% (69/73), 87.59% (360/411), and 81.30% (100/123), respectively. The total of 3 951 articles and appliances were tested with a qualified rate of 87.12% (3 442/3 951), among which the qualified rates of high, medium, and low level hotel were 98.42% (436/443), 86.30% (2 407/2 789), and 82.06% (590/719), respectively. Among the air quality test indexes of guest rooms in hotels with different level, noise, particulate matter 10, and illumination were lower, and the qualified rates were 91.43% (555/607), 93.90% (570/607), and 94.73 (575/607), respectively. Among the test indexes of articles and appliances, the qualified rate of Staphylococcus aureus was 100.00% (3 951/3 951), that of total bacteria and coliform was 92.03% (3 636/3 951) and 95.09% (3 757/3 951), respectively.
      Conclusions  The hygienic condition of high and middle level hotels in Guangzhou was good, and the hygienic quality of low level hotels was poor in 2018.
