    Monitoring and Analysis of Disinfection Effects in Medical Institutions in Shihezi from 2015 to 2016

    • Objectives To understand the disinfection status of medical institutions in Shihezi city of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and to provide scientific basis for the disinfection management of medical institutions.
      Methods The on-site sampling and microbiological testing method were used to monitor and evaluate the disinfection effects of medical institutions at all levels in Shihezi.
      Results A total of 1 207 samples were tested. The number of qualified was 1 131, and the qualified rate was 93.70%. The disinfection rate in 2016 (91.57%) was lower than that in 2015 (95.20%), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=6.563, P < 0.05). Among the different projects, the highest rate of air disinfection was 96.43%. The disinfection rate of treatment water was the lowest at 75.68%. Compared with different types of medical institutions, the disinfection rate of clinics was the lowest, which was 88.83%, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=21.310, P < 0.05).
      Conclusions The qualified rate of disinfection of therapeutic water in medical institutions of Shihezi city was low. Future management should focus on the supervision of clinics and the improvement of disinfection management.
