Objectives To develop a method on the determination of atrazine in drinking water by Atmospheric Pressure Solids Analysis Probe-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (ASAP-MS/MS).
Methods Water samples were added to the probe by pipette, ionized by atmospheric pressure solids analysis probe, detected by Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) under positive mode of atmospheric chemical ionization, and qualified by Product Ion Confirmation (PIC).
Results The linear range of atrazine was (0.6~50.0) μg/L, the correlation coefficient was 0.999 6, and the limit of determination and quantitation were 0.2 μg/L and 0.6 μg/L, respectively. At low, middle, and high concentration levels, the recovery of standard addition for blank drinking water samples were 74.8%~84.4%, with a relative standard deviation of 9.7%~14.9%.
Conclusions This method has simple pretreatment, fast analysis speed, and high sensitivity, which is suitable for the rapid screening determination of atrazine in drinking water.
