    Analysis on Hygienic Conditions of Barbershops in Huizhou from 2015 to 2017

    • Objectives To understand the hygienic conditions of barbershops in Huicheng district of Huizhou and to provide a theoretical basis for optimizing and improving the hygienic level of barbershops in this area, standardizing the administrative regulations and preventing the occurrence of hygienic problem in public places.
      Methods Samples were collected by random sampling method. The quality of the air and public tools in barbershops in Huicheng district of Huizhou were monitored in spring from 2015 to 2017. Monitoring result were analyzed according to the Hygienic Inspection Method for Public Places (GB/T 18204-2013) and Hygienic Standards for Barber Shops and Beauty Salons (GB 9666-1996).
      Results The qualified rate of the air monitored in spring from 2015 to 2017 showed an increasing trend over the years, and the difference was statistically significant. The qualified rate of total bacteria counts in the air monitored in spring from 2015 to 2017 showed an upward trend over the years, and the difference was statistically significant. The qualified rates of towels, combs and scissors monitored in spring from 2015 to 2017 were 82.15%, 99.78% and 99.75% respectively and the differences were statistically significant.
      Conclusions The overall hygienic conditions of barbershops in Huicheng district of Huizhou was good; improving the potential health problems were necessary. Therefore, comprehensive and effective measures should be taken to strengthen public health education, supervision and administration to protect public health.
