Analysis on Epidemic Status of Viral Hepatitis in Lanzhou

Objectives To understand the incidence and death pattern of viral hepatitis in Lanzhou and provide evidence for the control and prevention of viral hepatitis.

Methods The analysis was conducted in 2004-2017, the data was based on the incidence and death of viral hepatitis in Lanzhou reported in the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention.

Results The major types of hepatitis were hepatitis B(70.64%)and hepatitis C(25.15%). The incidence of hepatitis A and hepatitis B decreased and the incidence of hepatitis E and hepatitis C increased in this period. There were 74 deaths caused by viral hepatitis reported in these 14 years, 64.86% of them caused by hepatitis B and 32.43% caused by hepatitis C. The total mortality of viral hepatitis and death rate were in a downward trend.

Conclusions More attention should be paid to hepatitis E; hepatitis B and hepatitis C are major targets in the prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis in Lanzhou.
