The Effective Detection Time Limit of Anionic Surfactant in Drinking Water

    • Objectives To investigate the effective detection time limit and preservation method of anionic surfactant in drinking water by monitoring different concentrations of water samples for many days.
Methods The variance of repeated measurement data was analyzed in SPSS 19.0 statistics software. And the factors affecting the stability of anionic synthetic detergent in drinking water was investigated.
Results The experiment was carried out from two factors:time and adding preservative agent.Taking time as an invariant and preservative agent as a variant, it was found that the preservative agent had statistical significance in the experimental group and the control group(P < 0.05).With time factor, the influence of storage time on the stability were greater. The change rate of concentration in experimental group was less than 10% in 240 h (10 days). And those in control group was less than 10% in 96 h (4 days).
Conclusions The effective detection time limit in water is 96 h (4 days), and it is 10 days about water adding preservative agent, and faster detection, more meaningful. The preservative agent (formaldehyde 35%~40%, with an addition of 1%) had a clear effect on prolonging the effective detection time limit of anionic surfactant in drinking water.
