Discussion on Definition of Secondary Water Supply and Indicators Related to Water Quality

The definition of secondary water supply and its facilities and indicators related to water quality in the Hygienic Specification for Facilities of Secondary Water Supply (GB 17051-1997) were discussed in this paper. Recommendations on improving the definition of secondary water supply and its facilities and suggestions on indicators related to water quality were proposed. Based on the requirements in the Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB 5749-2006), the definition of secondary water supply in this standard was suggested to be used in distinguishing secondary water supply and non-secondary water supply. Therefore, a unified hygienic standard for drinking water would be realized by the connection and engagement of the Hygienic Specification for Facilities of Secondary Water Supply (GB 17051-1997) with the Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB 5749-2006).
