Objective To provide scientific basis for strengthening the supervision and management of air quality in the waiting room of hospitals in Guiyang.
Methods Sampling and monitoring methods were based on the Technical Specification for Hygienic Monitoring in Public Places (GB/T 17220-1998).Detection methods were based on the Standard Test Method for the Hygienic status in Public Places (GB/T 18204-2013) and the Assay Method for the Determination of Inhalable Particulate Matters (PM10) in the Air of Public Places-Light Scattering Method (WS/T 206-2001).The evaluation was based on the requirement of the Hygienic Standards for Waiting Room in Hospitals (GB 9671-1996), and the monitoring data were analyzed statistically.
Results The indicators for wind speed, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, inhalable particulate matters and illumination were qualified. The qualified rate for temperature, bacteria counts was 88% and 82.67%, respectively. Noise was unqualified in all places. Among 15 monitored hospitals, 9 hospitals had only 1 unqualified indicator, accounted for 60%, 4 hospitals had 2 unqualified indicators, accounted for 26.67%; 2 hospitals had 3 unqualified indicators, accounted for 13.33%.
Conclusions The air quality in the waiting room of Guiyang municipal hospitals was well overall, but some indicators were exceeding the standard limit to some extent. The supervision, management and daily monitoring should be strengthened.
