    • The authors reviewed the physical and chemical properties and application of benzoic acid, along with the absorption and metabolism of benzoic acid in human body, benzoic acid content in all kinds of food and drug as well, as the progress on toxicology and population epidemiology of benzoic acid.The results of studies show that the possibility of people poisoned by all kinds of food intake of benzoic acid is very small.
