Differential Expression Profile of MicroRNA in Mice Peripheral Blood Induced by Sublethal Dose of Irradiation

    • Objectives To investigate the differential expression profiles of MicroRNA in peripheral blood of mice induced by sublethal dose of irradiation and to explore their major effects and significances. Methods SPF C57BL/6J mice were exposed to a single 2Gy whole body irradiation with60Coγ, the changes of MicroRNA expression in peripheral blood were detected by Agilent MicroRNA microarrays at 6, 24and 72h after irradiation. Results At 6h after irradiation with 2Gy of 60Coγ, the total number of differentially expressed MicroRNA was 16, in which 13 was up-regulated and 3 down-regulated. At 24 h and 72 h after irradiation, 36 MicroRNA and 30 MicroRNA were differentially expressed, respectively. Conclusions MicroRNA was involved with the regulation of sublethal dose radiation damage, and the differential expression of MicroRNA in peripheral blood of mice derived from sublethal dose irradiation might be used as a new biomarker for the exposure of sublethal irradiation.
