    Comprehensive Evaluation on Hygiene and Safety of Zhongshan Voluntary Schools in 2014

    • Objective To survey the hygienic status of voluntary schools in Zhongshan city, and to provide reference for improving the environment, and to promote and safeguard the health of students.
      Methods Thirty seven voluntary schools were monitored and the data were analyzed according to the Comprehensive Appraisement for Health Inspection in Schools(GB/T 18205-2012).
      Results The pass rate of lighting coefficient, window-floor area ratio, average illumination of desk, average space per person, carbon dioxide concentration and noise in classroom, and directly drinking water were 0, 89.2%, 23.9%, 38.2%, 97.3%, 100% and 93.1%, respectively. The risks were high on lighting coefficient, illumination, disposition of blackboard, average space per person, disposition and distribution of desk and table in classroom; and the comprehensive scores were 4.16±1.64, 3.82±2.24, 6.65±2.29, 5.07±4.35 and 5.07±4.35, respectively. The comprehensive scores of middle schools, primary schools and nine-year consistent schools were 62.87±13.87, 62.61±15.88 and 60.27±10.66, respectively.
      Conclusion The comprehensive scores which might risk the vision of students were low, and improving measures should be taken.
