Uncertainty Evaluation on Measuring Mercury in Cosmetics by Direct Mecury Analyzer

    • Objective To evaluate the uncertainty of measuring mercury in cosmetics determined by direct mercury analyzer.
Method Mercury in cosmetic samples was measured by direct mercury analyzer, the possible source of uncertainty in the detection process was analyzed, and the uncertainty was calculated.
Result The expanded uncertainty of mercury in cosmetic samples detected by direct mercury analyzer was ±0.078 μg/g.
Conclusions The process of fitting standard working curve was the main source of uncertainty for direct mercury analyzer.Comparing with traditional atomic fluorescence spectrometry, the uncertainty factors such as constant volume and sample pretreatment were excluded in the direct mercury analyzer method.
