    Central Air Conditioning Ventilation Systems Hygienic Status in Public Places of Huizhou City

    • Objective To investigate and analyze the hygienic status of central air conditioning ventilation systems in public places of Huizhou city, and to provide the basis for standardizing sanitary management.
      Methods The hygienic statue of 5 types of central air conditioning ventilation system in 106 public places were investigated according to the Hygienic Standards for Centralized Air Conditioning Ventilation Systems in Public Places(WS 394-2012).
      Results the qualified rate of the dust, total fungi and the total bacteria counts in the inner surface of pipes was 87.7%, 87.6% and 89.1%, respectively; the qualified rate of PM10, total fungi, total bacteria counts and β-hemolytic streptococci in ventilating air was 100%, 90.9%, 92.6% and 100%, respectively. The qualified rate of condensed and cooling water was 12.8% and 22.4%, respectively. The hygienic condition in KTV was the worst and the contamination of legionella pneumophila was serious.
      Conclusions Sanitary management of central air conditioning ventilation system in public buildings in Huizhou city was somewhat not fully in place, the hygienic condition in KTV was the worst, and the hygienic status did not reach expected standards. Reinforcing the sanitary management and improving the hygienic status of central air conditioning ventilation system in public places were very important to help promoting people's health.
