    Analysis on Centralized Water Supply Quality in Urban and Rural Nanping in 2009-2013

    • Objectives To master the quality of urban and rural centralized water supplies in Nanping city, and to provide scientific evidence for drinking water security.
      Methods Water samples from urban and rural centralized water supplies in Nanping were collected, detected and evaluated according to the national standard and the data in 2009-2013 were analyzed.
      Results The average pass rate of finished water from urban water factories was 79.78% and that from rural water factories was 32.70%. The average pass rate of peripheral water from urban pipe networks was 65.82%, and that from rural pipe networks was 28.47%. The quality of centralized water supplies in urban areas was significantly better than that in rural areas. Bacteriological and sterilization indicators were the major factors impacting the lower quality of drinking water in Nanping.
      Conclusions The quality of water from urban and rural centralized water supplies in Nanping should be improved; the monitoring and management of rural water supplies should be strengthened especially.
