Abstract:
Objectives To survey the exposure levels of heavy metals in healthy youth people and determine the reference value for lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic concentration in adolescent urine in Baotou city.
Methods The morning urine samples from adolescent of 6~16 age-bracket were collected and the content of lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic was determined by ICP-MS. Reference value ranges were determined in 95% confidence limit according to the determination results.
Results The test data of lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic in urine samples showed a skewed normal distribution, but it was in keeping with normal distribution after logarithmic transformation. There was no significant difference between genders(P>0.05).
Conclusions The preliminary determination result showed that the reference value for lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic concentration in morning urine collected from adolescent of 6~16 age-bracket in Baotou city is less than 72.76, 10.51, 4.034, 242.6 μg/g, respectively.
