Abstract:
Objectives To develop a method for the separation and determination of Sudan Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ in chili powder with high performance liquid chromatography.
Methods After samples being extracted by n-hexane, concentrated by alumina column and purified by chromatographic extraction, analysis was conducted by using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet visible light detector.
Results There were a good linear relationship as the concentration of Sudan Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ in chili samples was in the range of 0.01~3.20 mg/kg, the correlation coefficients were 0.9995, 0.9992, 0.9991 and 0.9993, respectively, and the detection limits for these four components were 0.01 mg/kg.
Conclusions Satisfactory results could be obtained by selecting suitable ratio of gradient elution liquids and detection wavelength.
