Abstract:
As a new class of emerging pollutants, organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) have been widely distributed in the ecological environment, and their effects on maternal and infant health have also attracted more and more attention. This article reviewed the relevant research progresses on the environmental distribution of OPFRs, the level of OPFRs exposure during pregnancy, the association between OPFRs exposure during pregnancy and pregnancy complications and adverse birth outcomes in newborns, the effects of OPFRs exposure during pregnancy on the health of offspring, and the potential mechanisms of adverse effects of OPFRs exposure during pregnancy on maternal and infant health. The study provides references for further in-depth research of OPFRs exposure hazards, and prevention of OPFRs exposure during pregnancy.
