Research progress on the effects of short-chain chlorinated paraffins on the metabolism of animals

Abstract: As emerging persistent organic pollutants(POPs), short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) are widely present in a variety of animal and human tissues. At present, SCCPs have been proven to induce metabolic disorders, and the measurement of metabolites can reveal the impacts of pathological or physiological stimuli on the body at the molecular level, which is of great significance for toxicity evaluation of chemicals. This article reviews the research on the exposure characteristics of SCCPs in animals and their effects on metabolism, looking forward to providing a reference for further toxicological research and health risk assessment.
