Abstract:
Objectives To establish an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) for the determination of 5 metals, including Zn, Fe, Mg, Ca and Cu in human plasma.
Methods Plasma samples were analyzed by ICP-OES after 10 times dilution with 1% (v/v) nitric acid solution and quantified by standard curve method.
Results There were good linearity of standard curves in the detection range of (0.004 1~0.015 1) mg/L for 5 metals, with a correlation coefficient of >0.999. The intra-assay precision of 5 metals were 0.8%~2.5% and the inter-assay precision of 5 metal were 1.4%~3.0%. The spiked for all elements was in the range of 93.3%~105.2%. The result of five elements in the reference materials were in the acceptable ranges.
Conclusions The inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) method could be used to monitor the concentrations of the 5 metals in human plasma.
