Abstract:
Objectives To find out the air quality and microbial contamination of headphones and microphones in compartments of two types of mini KTV in Beijing, and to ensure the public health of people.
Methods The samples of indoor air were collected from 37 compartments in shops and cinemas, along with 74 surface substancs of headphones and microphones, and microbial contamination of which were examined.
Results The air quality of these compartments were conformed with the national standards of indoor air quality. There was no significant statistical difference of total number of bacteria between the two types of mini KTV. However, the examined rates of total number of bacteria and fungi were high and the qualification rates of total bacteria on surface substances of headphones and microphones were low. In which, Staphlococcus aureus were found on the surface substances of them, but E.Coli were not found. There were no significant statistical differences of total number of bacteria among various structures of headphones and microphones, but different kinds of material for microphones showed significant statistical differences of total number of bacteria and fungi.
Conclusions The air quality in two types of mini KTV were fairly good, the surface substances of headphones and microphones showed a hygienic hidden trouble to public health and needed to pay attention and to take precaution for the relevant departments.
