Abstract:
Objective To investigate the sanitary situation of integrated urban and rural water supplies in Dezhou city.
Methods The investigation was carried out by a questionnaire in 15 sites of the city to obtain the sanitary situation of integrated urban and rural water supplies including water sources, water treatment processes, etc. A total of 180 samples of finished waters and terminal piped waters were examined in accordance with the procedures in the Standard Examination Methods for Drinking Water (GB/T 5750-2006). The indicators of microorganism and disinfection were determined.
Results Reservoir water was the main source for waterworks in the city. The water treatment processes were rationally allocated with water source. The drinking water was disinfected by chlorine dioxide. The overall qualified rates of microorganism as disinfectant residual were 98.3% and 93.3% respectively.
Conclusion The integrated urban and rural water supplies in Dezhou were in good condition, it was a feasible strategy to solve health security of drinking water in rural areas of the city.
