Abstract:
Objectives To understand the content of fine particles and their components in the air in Jinan City during heating season, and to provide the basis for stripping the source of air pollutants.
Methods Air samples in 2 monitoring points, Licheng District and Shizhong District of Jinan City, were collected in the winter of 2013 when air pollution was heavy. The content of inorganic elements, water soluble ions and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in PM2.5 were analyzed. The concentration, characteristic components and the variation trend of atmospheric particles were also analyzed.
Results The level of PM2.5 in winter is higher in Licheng District than that in Shizhong District of Jinan, the four highest ion components in PM2.5 were NO3-, SO42-, NH4+ and Cl-. The content of aluminum, lead and manganese were the highest in all 12 kinds of metals analyzed for air samples. The content of acenaphthylene, acenaphthene and two hydrogen naphthalene were the highest in all 16 kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons analyzed for air samples.
Conclusions The content of fine particulate matters in the air in Licheng District and Shizhong District of Jinan City during the heating season in 2013 was higher than the national standard limits. The air pollution in Jinan City was mainly caused by burning coal.
